The project deRadika is a cooperation of the two freelance journalists, Elisabeth Weydt and Elise Landschek, and the cultural manager Lisa Maria Weber, together with the association Slow Food, supported by the foundation Akademie Schloss Solitude, within the scope of the idea challenge Advocate Europe.
Elisabeth and Elise mainly work for the German radio station NDR, as well as WDR, SWR, Deutschlandradio Kultur, and the broadcaster ARTE. Their thematic focus is on social movements, extremism research, and environmental policy.
Lisa works in the field of Fine Arts. She has managed and implemented international cultural projects with focus on social and ecological issues.
We three are preoccupied with the current situation in Europe. Hence, although the Radical is almost omnipresent today, we generally know too little about its roots, its power, and its protagonists. We want to better understand what is going on in Europe in this moment. And we are certain that we are not alone in our desire to know more. We are taking the discussion about the Radical into our salons, as we travel throughout Europe accompanied by our questions!
Slow Food is an international organization promoting a more sustainable food system. It aims at preventing the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions, counteracting the rise of fast life, and combating people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, and how our food choices affect the world around us.
Slow Food is working towards fundamentally transforming the food system and wants to advocate for increasing the consciousness for the consequences of our lifestyles for all of the planet’s ecosystems.
Akademie Schloss Solitude is a public-law foundation which offers an interdisciplinary and international Artist-in-Residence Program featuring residency and work fellowships for young artists, scientists and economists. Since opening its doors in 1990, the Akademie has supported more than 1,300 fellows from more than 120 countries.
Akademie's fellows and guests use it as an artistic incubator, a projection screen; a place to make lasting connections, or as an opportunity to realize a project without having to conform to conventions.
The Akademie also offers the possibility to communicate and present projects to the public. Besides hosting numerous public events, the online platform Schlosspost, provides international visibility for fellows and their projects.
Behind the design of this website and any further products stands the Berlin Design Studio Plateau. It was founded in 2016 by the art directors Marie Lammers and Christian Schneider and works with the focus on editorial design, corporate publishing und brand communication. Many of their projects already have been awarded with prizes, for example their magazine The Weekender that will be published for the 25th time this August with a relaunch.
The Munich-based internet agency websperts programmed this website.
Thies Schneider coordinates all technical challenges of the online communication, especially of this website.
